A Chinese Army Works on US Social Media to Derail Trump

China foothold US mainland communist total war ChineseThe United States is finally getting serious about the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda outlets operating on U.S. soil. Even so, the United States remains a step behind, as the CCP is using social media to try to defeat President Donald Trump.

The first step in countering the Chinese media outlets is to be honest about them.

On June 22, the State Department designated the U.S. operations of China Central Television, China News Service, the People’s Daily, and the Global Times as foreign missions. This announcement follows the Feb. 18 designation of Xinhua News Agency, China Global Television Network, China Radio International, China Daily Distribution Corporation, and Hai Tian Development USA as foreign missions.

These designations provide clarity about China’s state-owned media operating in the United States. They’re not independent media outlets. They’re propaganda outlets seeking to influence opinion on behalf of the CCP. The State Department is showing the CCP that the United States is serious about protecting our country.

What the State Department didn’t say, but is well known to the U.S. government, is that these CCP-owned media also act as spy networks. So, too, do many mainland Chinese business companies operating this country, which are part of the CCP’s “united front.”

While the State Department’s actions are welcome, they don’t touch the new focus of CCP propaganda in the United States: social media.

The CCP’s social media army, sometimes called the “50 Cent Army” (because they are said to be paid 50 cents for each post they make), is very well trained. Hundreds of thousands of operatives follow directions and are grouped into layers. When there’s an important issue—for example, a protest in Hong Kong, or the U.S.–China trade war—they will split into two opposite groups, debate, create controversial topics, make the topics heated, and then gradually guide most of the conversation into the direction the CCP wants.

It’s a well-planned, well-thought-out strategy. The group that speaks for the opposite side has strict guidelines—what they can say in taking the opposing view, and the red lines never to cross. Some lower level groups only repost.

Their work can create big influencers within days. And they can also buy big influencers, give them money, let them keep talking as before, but speak for the CCP at critical times, on critical issues.

The CCP’s social media army interfered with an election in Taiwan. The Tainan mayor—who became the head of one of Taiwan’s two major parties—was elected under the influence of the CCP’s social media army.

Now, this same army has marched into the United States. The CCP has a strategy: It’s easier to beat Trump than to beat America as a country. This is the same strategy the CCP uses to target the leaders of organizations, or the elites of countries, going after these individuals rather than tackling the organizations or countries as whole.

We know TikTok served as a platform to create confusion around Trump’s Tulsa rally. It encouraged people to register for the event but not show up. This was not an act of individuals, but a well organized attack. And that was just a small test.

This social media army can also pretend to talk like Democrats, attack Trump, and, using a large, well-organized team, appear to dominate opinion. The CCP takes advantage of this country’s open system, and the United States doesn’t have enough understanding of its tactics.

Today, the Indian government announced that it has banned 59 apps from China, including TikTok, WeChat, Baidu map, and so on.

In the United States, every action takes a long process. On the one hand, this is how a democratic system works. But on the other hand, the slow pace is also the result of a long peaceful life that makes most Americans unaware of the enemy next to them.

Beijing has passed the national security law custom-made for Hong Kong. Pompeo announced that “as Beijing moves forward with passing the national security law, the United States will today end exports of U.S.-origin defense equipment and will take steps toward imposing the same restrictions on U.S. defense and dual-use technologies to Hong Kong as it does for China.”

Hong Kong has acted as a white glove for Beijing to access the Western financial markets and sensitive technology, including military and space technology. One might wonder why Beijing doesn’t mind losing this glove and how Beijing can now get these highly desirable technologies. Beijing is one step ahead again: it has set up many intermediary landing places in other free-port countries that function like Hong Kong’s white glove, to ship sensitive technology to China.

The CCP may seem to be clever, but as the popular Chinese saying goes, “Heaven is eliminating the CCP.” Though the CCP continues its insidious tactics, it now faces crises from every direction. No matter how sly, stealthy, and ruthless the CCP is, the wind is now against it.

Why would anyone believe the Chinese Army on social Media?

Dennis E Math

Apparently many social media outlets are openly working for or in the interests of the CCP. Look at what YouTube is doing when they censor conservative content….how about Twitter? Pintarest? Many others and the actions of good old Mark Zuckerberg has developed a Facebook like CCP friendly app……..how many peoples freedoms are we going to allow these tech giant monopolies to steal? Heck, we are trying to get rid of Tik Tok but there are so many social media outlets out there that are working hand in glove with the Chinese dictatorships. The Muslims should look upon these groups as true enemies after what their Communist Chinese Co Horts are doing to the Muslims that happen to live in China…..not to mention what the Chicoms have done to us Christians……..Google, YouTube and other sites should be broken up just like Bell Telephone was. EVERYONE ended up gaining from that anti monopoly measure.

Shut down China. Stop importing any product from China. Its all junk anyway. Prohibit US companies
from producing in China. Propose removing China from the UN or better yet, the US should leave the
UN. stop eating chinese food. Ban travel into China. Develop an internet that is not available in China.
Get serious. Quit the analysis and consideration of nuance. Its black or white

We’ve already stopped MSM propaganda watching. Got tired of taking abuse from an appliance that we house and paying cable bill to propagandize us in our own home, maybe even spying on us.

Well,
Would someone Please inform Biden? Know his kid is taken care of by China to the tune of last I checked 1 billions dollars(Think Dr. Evil’s kid from Austin Powers). My only question is who would I like to be governed by? China or Russia? Again, I have to choose the lesser of 2 evils. When will our government figure this out? Maybe on a outside chance find someone qualified to run this country. WE BUILT THIS COUNTRY, IDIOTS THAT ARE ALREADY RICH WANT MORE POWER, WHY? We need good, sound, judgement not people that want power or more money for their kids (both are guilty of this, both Biden and Trump). Too bad Patton still isn’t around. Just sayin’

I agree wiith the comment below, pray and vote. 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people which are called by .y name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” we need to pray fervently for our country. Oh, and buy nothing made in China.

How long is this going to go on? The CCP sends its students here, pays off our Professors etc. many of whom steal guarded research and technical information for the CCP. Let us not forget how much money Hunter Biden was paid by the CCP- I heard $1.5B for what. And Blue Collar Joe Biden didn’t know anything about this. Didn’t HB get w waiver to get into the military and which he violated and was kicked out of the service–and now he is in bed with the CCP what a joke! This reeks of Corruption and a land full of traitors in our Country. I wonder how many other of our governmental officials have been greased by the CCP as well. I suspect the money the CCP is paying to derail our President Trump is much less then the tariffs they are paying the USA. Any government official, Professor etc. who takes money from the CCP to undermine our Great country should be kicked out of the USA or thrown in a hard core jail for a very long time. No more foreign students in the USA. Isn’t the daughter of China’s dictator enrolled in Harvard? What a joke.

Isn’t it interesting that the Major News and Congress has focused on Russia and for the last 3 Years since the Democrat Party, it has taken control of the House of Representatives that the only thing they have done is focus on ” Russia”. China was never mentioned. Odd that.

We won’t begin to win against the Red Chinese until we cut ALL ties with them and that includes ALL trade.
Our problems started with Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon, progressively getting worse since then.

Here’s the problem: The Chinese student issue has been around at least since the early ’70’s. That’s when I saw it first-hand. The Chinese are Very practical. Why spend all the time, effort, & money towards the difficult task of developing a good educational system when you can simply ship your obedient students to the U.S.? After training, some went back to China to help develop the juggernaut mfg. base we see today. Some also stayed in the U.S. and took important, high-tech jobs, so as to steal our technology and transfer it back to China. Like I said, they are practical. Again, why struggle to develop your own technology, when you can simply, quickly, and with little risk, just steal the most advanced technology from the U.S.?
The universities and colleges will not stop this practice of allowing hordes of Chinese students to infest our classrooms in the name of “diversity” and “cultural enrichment.” THERE is the Real problem. To do otherwise in our current, insane social climate would instantly brand you a “racist.”

While it’s impratical to cut all trade with China, we Do need to start shifting our mfg. back home. The Wuhan virus pointed to the fallacy of outsourcing our vital mfg. to China, as shown by the pharmaceutical issue.
Thank you for mentioning Nixon. Every time we have trouble with China(when don’t we?) I curse Richard Nixon for opening that door.

The limited amount I’ve dealt directly with the Chinese leads me to suspect they are basically devoid of moral & ethical standards. What do you expect after 60 years of ruthless Communist rule and brainwashing? They are the complete opposite of American values and conduct. We have a long tradition of individuality, fair play, and high standards. The Chinese, on the other hand, function as a collective. Being a virtual dictatorship, there are no checks on the govt.’s power. What Beijing wants, Beijing gets(or takes). They have surmised that they have grown strong enough to “flex their muscles” and embark on an imperialistic push. That’s due to the shortsightedness of American companies who naively allowed transfer of our technology to the Chinese. Also, our ineffectual & stupid politicians in DC, who haven’t identified the dire threat that China poses. Much like their same stupidity surrounding the denial of Islamist intentions and actions.

Bob L. you have surmised the Chinese modus operandi in three words: steal, lie, cheat. A humorous but sad incident happened to my wife and me while visiting our friends in Long Island, NY back in 1991. They decided to take us on a tour of NY city. We were walking by the Rolex building when a young man approached with a thin black jewelry briefcase. He opened it and had all Rolex watches for men and women in various styles and face colors. I chose the Rolex with a blue face. I asked for the price. He replied, “Fifteen dollars onl, sir.” I couldnit believe, so I bought one. Our friends who are wealthy dentist laughed and explained tauntingly, “You just bought a fake Rolex watch was probably made in China.” He was right and that is cheating by copying a patent and arbitrarily producing a fake Rolex watch. I share this experience to underscore the huge economic mistake made by another President after Nixon. Enter Bill Clinton on May 27, 1994, Pelosi and Senate Majority leader George Mitchell both disagreed with President Clinto renewing the MFN trade status of China due to their human rights abuses. Clinton was being heavily pressured by greedy American businessmen and owners of America’s manufacturing companies. At that time, the Chinese needed American products and our avaricious CEOs and businees owners saw the billions of Chinese buying billions of American manufactured products. Fast forward to 20 years to 2014, and the Chinese modus operandi of steal, lie, and cheat stole American manufacturing from under our nose, and with it all the middle class American manufacturing jobs. I partially blame the greedy American owner of manufacturing facilities, and lay blam on COTUS and POTUS whether Republican or Democrat. On the Islamic threat to America came in 2008 with the election of the head Islamist, Barack Obama who opened the door to all things Islamic including the Muslim Brotherhood that has a 30 year plan to takeover America and make it the largest Islamic country in the world. The largest city of Muslims in America is Dearborn, Michigan with 96,000 plus Muslims. Islam’s ultimate goal is worldwide control and the destruction of Israel and the United States. We are fools to think that Islam and their Koran is compatible with democracy, our Constitution, and our founding Father’s principles based on Judeo-Christiain values, ideals, and morality. None of the prophecies in the Koran have ever been fulfilled unlike the Bilble where more than 350 prophecies about the Messiah have been fulfilled in the life and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Founding Fathers knew, wrote, and spoke the fact that a democracy can only survive if people believe in God not just a higher power or a Force like in Star Wars nor any Eastern Oriental relgious belief like Hinduism, Shintoism, Confuciunism, Buddhism, etc. who have no Savior and Lord like Jesus Christ.

About the only sport I watched was baseball but after the first strike of these rich brats, I had about enough and when the 2nd strike started that finished it for me. These people do not produce anything of any worth except to line there own pockets. They certainly are nothing to admire. As far as I am concerned I have no wish to continue to waste my money on them, their are more worthy uses for money.

We sold all 6 or our Texans season tickets and in process of trying to sell our PSL’s looks bleak. I think the NFL is in for a rude awakening. If Kellen Mond is QB at A and M we will never support again he gets to play football and get a degree from this fine University and now wants to destroy its History. No Sul Ross no A and M get a life get the facts you bozo. I will support good ole Texas State University. I love MLB however they are getting tougher to follow. Sold my Rockets tickets still have some Astros may sell them I just have had enough.

Not a surprise at all. Most of the democrats in Congress have businesses in China that rake in millions by the day. They aren’t going to do anything to kill their cash cows. We the people need to make sure that republicans never get in bed with China or the United States is over. Pray and VOTE. ???
