This bill would open the door for more veterans to receive training or skills for in-demand jobs in the field of technology.

The Honorable Mariannette Miller-Meeks
2nd Congressional District of Iowa
1716 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Miller-Meeks,

On behalf of the 2.3 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including
over 5,800 who reside in IA-02, I write to offer our support for H.R. 2335, the VET TEC Enhancement Act
of 2021.

AMAC counts many veterans among our membership and veteran’s issues are a significant priority for
our legislative efforts. We are especially supportive of veterans as they transition from military to civilian
life. We would also like to express our gratitude to you for your 24 years of service in the U.S. Army.
It is encouraging to see your concern, in action, for those who have served our country. Your bill would
significantly increase funds already appropriated for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ popular High
Technology Pilot Program, opening the door for more veterans to receive training or skills for in-demand
jobs in the field of technology.

Thank you, Representative Miller-Meeks, for introducing legislation that works to support our veterans’
post-service quality of life. AMAC appreciates your efforts to assist those who served and is pleased to
offer our organization’s full support for H.R. 2335, the VET TEC Enhancement Act of 2021.

Sincerely,

Bob Carlstrom

President, AMAC Action

Thank you for supporting this effort. Many service members learn skills while in the military that are of great value in the civilian job market. Unfortunately, many don’t. What they did was paramount to the military mission but doesn’t easily transfer to the job market in the civilian world. Even today many jobs, good jobs go empty because of a lack of qualified applicants. Helping veterans maintain housing and daily living needs while obtaining education and training to fill much needed jobs is a win/win for everyone. Good job AMAC
