You won’t get a better deal then your own employers group insurance

I got a better deal through Medicare & supplemental insurance. Biggest problem with employer healthcare is you are liable for the difference the insurance company pays (contract pricing) compared to what the healthcare provider bills.
Plan F medigap insurance does not allow the health providers to come after you to pay the difference .

To Piggyback off of David’s comment: Some Medicare Supplements cover “Excess Charges”. Excess Charges allow certain providers to balance bill you if they do not accept Medicare Assignment (what Medicare agrees to pay for services). So having a Medicare Supplement that covers the Excess Charges helps avoid those sneaky bills.

Hello David,

I am glad to hear that Medicare Supplement insurance is working out for you! Thank you for your input.

Hello Lil,

Not necessarily- It really depends on your employer. Many people saw huge increases on their premiums and deductibles after the Affordable Care Act was passed. Employer health insurance is sadly not what it used to be. But that is great to hear if this isn’t the case for you!
