Biden Can’t Save Himself For a Reason That No One’s Talking About

AMAC Exclusive – By Shane Harris

biden

As Joe Biden stumbles toward the end of a turbulent first year in office, there doesn’t appear to be any relief in sight for the beleaguered President. A border disaster, spiraling inflation, supply chain woes, and a record crime surge are just a few of the problems plaguing the current administration and weighing down Democrats nationally. However, while bad policy is certainly to blame for these crises, policy alone may not entirely explain Biden’s sinking popularity, or his stubborn inability to recover after each blunder. Another key and often overlooked reason for Biden’s ineptitude are his failures of public persuasion and communication. In short, his speeches are not good – and have at times bordered on the absurd – and without decent speeches, it is hard to see how Biden could recover his lost political capital.

The quality of speeches – both content and delivery – is a key test for any new president. How well they can communicate with the public is often the best indicator for how successful their term will be. It’s no coincidence that Ronald Reagan is widely considered one of the greatest presidents of the modern era and also earned the nickname “The Great Communicator.”

Democrats today are likely wishing they had  part of that magic  in the White House. To be sure, Biden has never been a particularly gifted speaker. One need only watch his bizarre recounting of an altercation with someone named “Corn Pop” to see that he has trouble constructing a coherent narrative without a script. Combine that unfortunate fact with speech texts that are full of cliches and lacking in direction, vision, argumentation, and depth, and the result is both uninspiring and unconvincing.

Biden set the bar low early with his first Address to a Joint Session of Congress (the special title given to a president’s first speech to Congress). After nearly 100 days – far longer than most presidents wait to give the speech – Biden finally took to a mostly-empty House floor at the end of April  to deliver a thoroughly lackluster speech that was an obvious departure from the must-watch TV events that were the Trump State of the Union Addresses.

Amid all the starts and stops and fumbled lines, large portions of the speech focused on the vaccine rollout, which Biden inherited from the Trump administration, and tired Democratic talking points about the “urgent need” to pass “transformational legislation” on everything from climate change to a $15 minimum wage. Gone were the powerful personal stories that colored a hopeful vision for America which characterized the Trump speeches and earlier iterations of the State of the Union. Instead, Americans were subjected to vague assurances that the country is choosing “light over darkness,” is “on the move again,” and will “always get up.”

Even the media and other elected Democrats conceded afterward that the speech was a “laundry list”—and were quick to focus on anything but the actual content, specifically, the “historic” nature of having two women sitting behind the President during the speech for the first time (Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris). Hardly a rousing endorsement of Biden’s communication abilities.

It’s only gotten worse for Biden in the months since, especially as things have gone from bad to worse from a policy perspective. In July, for example, following Biden’s remarks defending his disastrous Afghanistan evacuation plan, a CNN article panned the speech as “the worst of Biden’s presidency.” It went on to blast the remarks as “peopled with straw men and littered with false assertions.” Other communications experts echoed that sentiment, blasting the speech in which Biden called the U.S. evacuation an “extraordinary success” as variously “abrasive,” “defensive,” and “angry.”

After the Afghanistan fallout, Biden delivered a speech at the United Nations to similarly poor reviews. Following the remarks, Vanity Fair ran the headline “Joe Biden Tries Convincing a Skeptical World that the United States is Back,” while Slate Magazine proclaimed, “Why the Fine Words of Biden’s U.N. Speech Rang Hollow.” These aren’t conservative publications. These are the outlets that have been carrying Democrats’ water for years.

It’s easy to see why the usually doting media didn’t like it – musing on democracy and human rights certainly does ring hollow in the wake of Biden’s unmitigated human rights failure in Afghanistan. Biden also stated that the U.S. was entering a new era of “relentless diplomacy” even as America’s oldest ally in France had taken the unprecedented step of recalling its ambassador over the Biden administration’s mishandling of a submarine deal with Australia. Amid all the high-flying rhetoric, Biden’s speechwriters seemed to forget that the remarks actually had to be somewhat tied to reality in order to be persuasive.

Biden’s less high-profile moments in front of a microphone have also been replete with platitudes and cringeworthy moments that make them borderline unwatchable. Even White House aides apparently agree, as they reportedly mute or turn off the TV when the President speaks. During remarks at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony (at which the President inexplicably appeared on stage a full two minutes after being announced by the event’s host) Biden introduced himself as “Jill Biden’s husband” and thanked Interior Secretary Deb Haaland for “[making] me look awful good in my judgements.” He was a walking cliché of clichés.

The few times Biden has appeared to achieve legislative victories, his pathetic speeches have left the White House unable to capitalize on them. For example, Congress passed the so-called “American Rescue Plan” in March and “bipartisan infrastructure bill” last month. Both should have been opportunities for a victory lap for the President, as they were major campaign promises. However, Biden simply hasn’t been able to sell the legislation, leading to frustration from Democratic lawmakers about the relative lack of public knowledge about the bills – something Democrats largely blame the White House for. House Ways and Means Chair Richard Neal (D-MA) has emphasized the importance of “seizing credit” for legislative wins, something Biden has been unable to do.

Biden’s handlers have predictably reacted to his deficiencies as an orator by trying to keep the doddering president out of the public eye as much as possible, with aides often seen ushering him away from reporters, and even his granddaughters seemingly understanding that he can’t be allowed to speak on his own. Most of his prepared speeches occur during workdays, when the vast majority of Americans are unable to tune in to watch live. This provides at least some degree of control for the White House, as the friendly mainstream media can splice together the more lucid parts for the evening news.

Regardless, Americans expect their leaders to present a clear vision for the country themselves, in person. Biden’s historically subpar speeches are likely playing heavily into his sinking poll numbers and the increasingly vocal dissatisfaction with his leadership. People will tolerate short-term economic pains and policy missteps, but they typically do not look kindly upon a leader who can’t explain where things went wrong and what must be done to make them right. If Biden and his speechwriters can’t figure that out, they will be in for a long three years until 2024.

Crazy aunt Nancy should have torn Biden’s speech up after his address to Congress proving his failure. But then again, she doesn’t have seething hatred for puppet Biden like she did for President Trump. Biden, a one term president. Ahh, it has a certain ring to it. Just tragic it can’t end sooner.

Are people so clueless Biden is an incompetent Idiot Demented for which he can’t help it. Shame on the Democrats/Rhinos who voted him into office and Kamala is no better. We are the laughing stock all over the world. I hope all of you are happy with everything that is going on. Unfortunately those of us who have some brains have to suffer. I am sure you all have to drive and eat. Have you been able to save some money. I rest my case.

I could not care less about the historical parts of the State of the Union speech given late by our not very illustrious president. My concern is what he actually said during the speech; when all the disturbing starts and starts (signs of his cognitive decline and Dementia) are removed along with his false claims of his hand in the vaccine development and rollout and the very unrelated personal stories (most of which will not stand a close inspection and scrutiny) there was nothing left but some disjointed ramblings of a senile old politician who is way out of his depth. He should have never been nominated for the office, but his handlers (puppeteers) wanted him there to be able to start the slide of the USA into Socialism/Communism. Now we (who can actually see what is beginning) have to try to figure out how to stop the destruction of our once great country.

As the old saying goes, “Call a spade … a spade!” It was obvious to any observed Hidin’ Biddens speech, demeanor, physical mobility, bland speakin rhythm that he was mentally unfit to serve as POCUS (or any other low or high political representation). He is the opposite side of the coin from Egyptian KIng Tut …. he was physically too old and King Tut was too young to be effective. In Biden’s case now, the real question is ….”Who’s running the Nation???” The answer? Who knows?? Maybe China, maybe his wife, maybe his wigged oout son, and on and on with a lot of names and identities not reassuring as to how well the Nation is running.

Personally, I think Biden is an incompetent, old man trying to do something he is not equipped to do. His handlers ought to be in jail for the mockery they have made of the governmental processes of this nation.

But the liberals don’t have to listen to those nasty tweets President Trump put out. Of course, the world was at peace, Americans were working, taxes had been cut, the southern border was under control, and America was energy independent. I hope the current situation is satisfactory to my liberal acquaintances.

Unfortunately George, many liberals are so blind they can’t see their hand in front of their face. All they know is that I’ve always voted democrat and I always will. So sad. Actually, anti-American. How can we educate people like that?

I suspect he doesn’t have speech writers with good ideas or well-turned phrases. But more important than a great speech is a good decision. From what we can find out, it appears that against the advice of his military advisors, he ordered the military to abandon Bagram and leave Afghanistan one night without even notifying Great Britain and France. That one decision should make it clear to anyone who understands it: the man cannot be trusted — AT ALL.

Could not be trusted with the election either. One would think that the Democrats would put someone with even minimal competence into power while they were stealing the election. Why “elect” such an incompetent, bumbling person. If the situation were not so serious, it would be ludicrous in the extreme.

Because they had no one else they could possibly pass off as legitimately “winning” the fraudulent election.

The idiot who pretends he is the President of the United States doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. This moron and his sycophant dumocrat minions are unquestionably destroying the United States. This cadre of idiots displays no concern as they daily totally violate whatever Amendment in the US Constitution they want to enforce their totalitarian desires!
We pay more for every essential necessity on a daily basis to survive than we did a year ago because of these control freaks; we are being INVADED by thousands of foreign nationals daily, subjecting us to unknown diseases, drugs, criminals and terrorists, which will further erode and destroy this country from within because the dumocrat power hungry morons don’t give a damn; these cognitively challenged idiots initiated a totally stupid, unplanned, uncoordinated, panicked RETREAT (it wasn’t a withdrawal) from Afghanistan which the dumbass pretender uncaringly orchestrated causing the unnecessary deaths of 13 service men and women without any compassion and remorse; we are being subjected by their daily fanatical attempts to violate our civil rights with unconstitutional mandates, advocated by their lies, without a shred of factual evidence, to increase their total control, so they can become communist dictators of this country; daily our government is force-feeding us Marxist/BLM propaganda BS by mandating and brainwashing our children with CRT crap and enforcing it with the FBI (gestapo) and declaring “we the people” are domestic terrorists.
A very serious side crisis to consider: Russia is poised (70,000 plus troops at the border) to attack the Ukraine (which is a NATO member) by the end of January; do the democracies of the world, including the wuss Biden, plan to stand up to Putin, or will history repeat itself, remember, Hitler “only” wanted that part of Germany (the Sudetenland) which was cleaved from it at the end of WWI?
The Declaration of Independence clearly states, and I want to be very careful with the words as Jefferson chose his carefully, we must honor his care by not reading more into them than was intended. The Declaration first says we have a right “to alter or to abolish” a government that becomes “destructive” of the ends for which it was formed, namely, securing our rights. But Jefferson also speaks of throwing off a government; that it is not only our right but our duty to do so, but only when we have been reduced to “absolute Despotism.” Remember these words, sear them into your brain, for we, being suppressed by the current administration, are currently reduced to a hairs breath away from that despotism.
This past year has tried this country like no other time in its history, we haven’t been this torn asunder since the Civil War. This current administration doesn’t give a rats ass they are systematically destroying this country or gives any thought we are totally discussed with them. There is a triggering moment coming, for surely we cannot endure another three years of this wonton stupidity. So we mustn’t forget what has been going this past year come next November. We ALL must exercise our civic duty and vote as many of these dumocrats out of office as possible, or else there will no longer be a United States of America as envisioned by our forefathers, and you won’t be able to express your concern again!

“While he can deliver a theme line….” Sorry for the typo.

Fred Roach

I am convinced that Trump has the same problem. While I can deliver a theme line, he fails to back it up with hard evidence. He appears not to understand why his theme is the right approach. And the repetition of the comical superlatives (wonderful, marvelous, the world’s greatest….) serve as substitutes for the hard analysis any thinking American needs to assess the correct approach to the issue. Without doubt Trump’s agenda made this country better. But that’s no excuse for believing everything he says as if it were gospel. As with Biden, Trump is no Reagan. I believe the Republican party needs, and would do well to find, someone with Reagan’s communication skills. I personally support Nikki Haley for president. I offer apologies to members of the Trump cult out there.

THE FACT THAT THIS POLITICAL HACK WAS ELECTED SHOWS HOW BAD OFF OUR COUNTRY REALLY IS AND HOW COMMUNISM HAS GROWN IN OUR COUNTRY.

Gary

That’s what they want you to believe . In reality , Biden was emplaced into the Presidency by fraud , not by voters . That fraud came from so very many different angles that it made running down the fraud difficult . In addition to the obvious fraud with the mail-in ballots , there also was fraud committed by the secret algorithms of the programmed electronic ‘voting’ machines . I suspected that millions upon millions of Democrat voters actually voted for Trump . But, knowing the ratio of party enrollment , all they had to do was switch Democrat votes that went to Trump back to Biden and no one would notice . Democrat voters almost NEVER showed up at his rallies . It was apparent to all the Biden was not popular among Democrats .

Then how to you explain the unbelievable amount of court cases Trump filed against the election, and LOST (usually for lack of evidence – the courts don’t believe it just because Trump says it)!

You are partially right Gary. However when you look at the polls, even if they are declining (which can be skewed) why are so many people still supporting this administration? I think it’s because so many democrats are living in the past. Thinking this is the same party that we voted for decades ago. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Becky

All of this could be because Biden has no mind. He had none when the stupid among our population voted for him.
Plus, Biden is merely a ‘plant’ for the Globalist Communists. The mooslem jihadi, barack, and the Communist soros are running our government.

I hope and pray the the Democrat Party goes away completely in all coming elections. The Democraps do NOT represent democratic government, fiscal responsibility, heavy leaning to Communistic tactics, and ALWAYS putting Party and self ahead of the support and application of our democratic Constitutional governance. I repeat …. the Democrap Party seeks to RULE the Nation … NOT govern using Constitutional Democratic processes and procedures. The Nation under Democrap leadership control is now in a spinning nose dive heading full force in to Communism with a bit of Nazi influence. And China can hardly believe the level of influence that are getting with Joe Hidin’ Biden as POTUS.

Your hope and prayers will be answered when we can certify the integrity of our elections systems . We all (each and every one of us ) should be DEMANDING the clean-up of our election systems . I believe that Democrat voters are being lied to by Democrat ‘leaders’ . I suspect that most Democrat voters are good sensible people. But it has been they who the Democrat “leaders” have been steeling their votes from . I think Democrat Primary elections are crooked and are designed to cheat Democrat voters out of their vote , and that this is how the Democrat party has been moved so far to the left . I suspect that Democrat pols have been steeling Democrat votes from Democrat voters long before that started steeling votes from the rest of us . And, the extreme absence of supporters at ALL of Joe’s rallies seems to bear me out on this theory .

What has this man accomplished for America and its people other than destruction. Not a problem solver, but a problem creator, with the help of his puppeteers in the backroom beginning with his open door policy of come one, come all, placing America and its people in harms way. A loser for America!
50 years in DC and he still cannot get it right. On the other hand no admin. could be this incompetent creating one crisis after another, if not by design!!! One proud veteran.

Back in the day when I was earning my post graduate degree, there was an idiom saying about earning a degree says it all: Bachelors Degree (BS – bull shit), Master’s Degree (MS – more of the same), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD – piled higher and deeper)!
I think that covers it.

I believe the “supply chain” issue is manufactured. When driving on or near the interstates in the past 6 weeks, i have seen that the truck traffic seems to be way above what I use to see as normal. I also see lots of requests for truck drivers from many companies.

I have not been able to put my finger on what is actually going on. It may be manipulation by stores to keep only higher priced items in the store, while reducing generic items. If they do not have the generic, mostly food items, I just do not buy the brand name. I have not really noticed a lack of what would be considered Christmas items in the stores either. They had items lined up in the isles, taking up most of the space in the store.

I think the supply chain issue is real, but, mostly in California where they cannot get the ships into port. That may be more due to an influx of lots of imports. The Chinese companies are working at full tilt to get stuff to the US. They are using up their allotment of electricity and have to temporarily shut down. This may have been caused by the election. Once Trump was gone, the Chinese saw the coming of reduction of tariffs and other restrictions. And we all know China Joe loves them!
