Black History Museum Shows a Bias Against Black Conservatives, says AMAC

supreme-courtDistinguished Justice Clarence Thomas ignored

WASHINGTON, DC, Oct 14 – This year marks the 25th anniversary of Clarence Thomas’ appointment to the Supreme Court and the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened last month in Washington, has seen fit to “honor” the jurist by completely ignoring the event and Thomas, himself.

Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens, calls the museum’s “snub” a deliberate insult.  “What else can it be when a prestigious institution dedicated to telling the story of America’s black heritage ignores the accomplishments of such a distinguished jurist-the longest serving black justice in our country’s history.  The life and times of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American appointed to the court is on display.  There’s even a tribute to Anita Hill, the woman who sought to smear Thomas at his confirmation hearings in 1991.  But there was no room for Justice Thomas.”

The irony of dismissing Thomas in the very place where he should be celebrated for his personal and professional accomplishments has implications, says Weber.  “When a role model such as Thomas is given short-shrift in a museum allegedly dedicated to uplifting black men and women of accomplishment, it suggests a genuine bias against Conservative principles is flourishing in the nation’s capital.  Apparently all black people were not created equal in the eyes of the museum’s curators.”

Chicago Tribune columnist Dahleen Glanton is decidedly critical of Justice Thomas.  Earlier this week she disparaged the judge saying “he has spent the last 25 years on the court protecting barriers and putting up new ones designed to stifle blacks and other minorities.”  Yet, even she indicated disappointment that he was not honored by the black history museum.  “Like it or not,” she noted in the same column, “Thomas is an historical icon.  He deserves a prominent spot.  If this acclaimed museum is to tell the true story of the African-American journey, it cannot sugarcoat the course.”

Weber says the venerable Smithsonian Institution created the museum and needs to disavow political preferences in favor of historical accuracy.  The Smithsonian should rethink its mission and make room for Clarence Thomas who, as his longtime friend Mark Paoletta points out, is guilty only of having his own views.

“Thomas believes that the country was founded on the principle that individuals have rights, not societies, associations or any other such groups.  Paoletta says that the justice is a man who opposes racial preferences and was banished from Washington’s new Pantheon of black history for that reason,” Weber concludes.

“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well.”
Booker T Washington

I would also say that that Democrats are doing the same thing but they doing it to all Americans.

God bless Justice Clarence Thomas.

Justice Thomas was against Affirmative Action. Most black people are liberal. They don’t have the same beliefs as Justice Thomas. Blacks who had great influence along with some white folks put up Ms Hill to accuse Justice Thomas of sexual harassment.
Most black people believe they have right to certain benefits, just because they are minority and are supposedly disadvantaged. All my black friends are liberal and they have issues if you disagree with them.
Thank you.

I was actually going to make a point to visit the museum….until now. I was actually proud to see that Americans thought that black history was important enough to erect a museum in honor of their accomplishments…until now. I will never step foot into the halls of that museum until the day that they include JUSTICE Thomas. Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do.

Apparently, the liberals thought he just wasn’t black enough…………….old story, right?

It is small and narrow minds that made the call not to put Justice Thomas in the Black History Museum. It shows if you don’t agree with the left you are not worth anything. A sad day to haave these feelings.

Is anyone surprised at this snub? Liberal progressive socialists only honor those with their approved views – but the rest of us get to fund them. I was at the museum last week; will not be going again.

This is a very sad commentary, where freedom of speech is under attack daily by those who choose communist values.

How sad to see what is happening in our once great country. This gross bias against black conservative Thomas needs to be fixed and fixed now If not Congress needs to do something about it.

I do have a question. Upon re-reading the article I notice that Anita Hill IS honored in that museum. We have a Black man that tries to have Black people be treated like real people, not as ex-slaves, AND is on the U. S. Supreme court, and has been for 25 years that was deemed by the powers-that-be to be unworthy of a place in the Black History Museum on the one hand. And on the other hand we have a Black lady whose only clain to fame, really infamy, is that she opposed Justice Thomas being honored by that same powers-that-be. Is there ANYTHING that Anita Hill ever accomplished?

Wasn’t Anita Hill the same lady who accused Thomas of sexual harassment before his appointment to the Supreme Court???

I watched the hearing from beginning to end. I saw the painful expressions on Justice Thomas’s face. It was painful and sad, no black people supported him. Reminded me of Jesus’ trial “crucify him” shouted the people in the crowd.
This is a man who does not seek fame, his faith guides his decision.
I am done with this election.

Oh please do not be done with this election! Do not let your family and friends be done with this election. That is exactly what the liberal politicians and media want. Stay strong and speak for truth. Pray and VOTE!!

The American people, and especially Black American youth NEED to be presented with the fact that a Black American (Obama is only half Black and no REAL American) CAN achieve the highest ranks of American government. Clarence Thomas is an ideal role model.

Welcome to the new fascism, America. Lessons learned by the Nazis in post WW1 Germany are, and have been played out in the US for decades. By allowing these falsehoods and omissions by the liberal left to be injected into society serves only to undermine our individual freedoms guanteed by the greatest document in the history of man – the Constitution of the United States.

This is an insult and truly representative of what liberals – especially those leftist progressive types – believe and practice each and every day – – political correctness… They are truly a “hateful and hate filled” bunch and the idea of individualism and expressions of a differing opinion are truly repulsive to them… Their mindset more closely resembles that of the former Soviet Union and the Communists than the “correct mindset” of governance by a true Democratic Republic … Yes, folks, we are living Orwell’s 1984… We have become deeply Orwellian.. Make sure we maintain “group-thought”, “group-think”, and “group-speech” is the progressive’s mantra…What is truly ironic is that Thomas (and the late Anthony Scalia) are the only SC justices – in our recent history – who truly loved, protected, and properly interpreted our US Constitution… It is also very sad that they, and they alone off times, had to continually ward off the attacks on our Constitution by the other progressive and interpretive to whatever they feel at the time SC members… To the other SC judges, our US Constitution is nothing more (and remains nothing more) than paper to place at the bottom of their collective bird cages… Pray for our country… I’m not sure we can survive another 4 to 8 years of progressive liberalism and this current crazy group of “the constitution is a living document always open to change at a whim” supreme court justices….

That’s why Hillary can’t win. The Constitution is on the line. Trump has his faults, but I believe he wii do what is best for our country. The Clinton dynasty should come to an end.

Why should we be surprised? People who can think for themselves and not go along with the liberal majority will always be austersized! Clarence Thomas is the perfect role model for all of us regardless of our ethnicity. It is a travesty and negative reflection to the”Black History Museum”.

Clarence Thomas is a hero!

Clarence Thomas has a wonderful success story only in america he should be praised and thank daily for his amazing life.Democrats and Marxist[one and the same] hate to see success in any black which is why they have built so many hellholes for them in America. Why they are not voted out puzzles me until I see how they treat Mr. Thomas. Look up and see how Lyndon Baines Johnson treated and referred to Thurgood Marshall, this has been hidden by brainwashing in every school in america.
