Breaking: House Committee Advances $3.5 Trillion Spending and Tax Hike Package

tax

Washington, DC — Yesterday, the House Committee on Ways and Means voted to advance the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion tax and spending package.

The package breaks President Biden’s pledge to not raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000 both directly and indirectly. A new tobacco tax on nicotine and vape products is regressive, meaning it falls more heavily on lower income households.

A number of tax hikes will also indirectly hit the middle class in the form of lower wages for workers and higher prices on consumers. In addition, adding $3.5 trillion in debt will almost certainly exasperate the inflation problem while shrinking the overall economy.  That translates to less money in the pockets of hardworking Americans with less buying power per dollar.

AMAC Action President Bob Carlstrom said:

“The package advanced out of the Ways and Means committee this week is a recipe for disaster for America’s small businesses and the country as a whole. At a time when many small businesses are hanging on by a thread, Democrats in Congress continue to throw new tax increases and regulations at Main Street. Imposing the biggest tax hike since 1968 is the opposite of a prescription for economic recovery.”

During the committee hearings, Top Republican Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) blasted Democrats’ out of control tax and spend agenda:

“President Biden, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats are ramming through trillions of wasteful spending and crippling tax hikes that will that will drive prices up even higher, kill millions of American jobs and drive them overseas, and usher in a new era of government dependency with the greatest expansion of the welfare state in our lifetimes.”

“Seniors across the country are overwhelmed with the amount of harmful policies coming out of Washington, AMAC Action President Bob Carlstrom continued, “it’s our job to help our members understand how harmful each specific policy that has been proposed would be if enacted and how to make their voices heard with elected officials. The amount of push back on this bill we are seeing from every day hardworking Americans tells me that House Democrats haven’t yet had the last word on hiking taxes.”

During the recent Ways and Means committee hearings, which concluded yesterday, Republicans offered over 60 amendments. Read the list here: Day Four Wrap-Up: Democrats Defend Economic Surrender

Speaker Pelosi has so far given no word on next steps for the bill following its initial passage out of committee but we expect to be opposing floor action soon. The bill has not yet been considered by the full House of Representatives. Please continue to stay tuned for more updates from our team in Washington, DC as we make your voices heard on Capitol Hill in opposing these tone-deaf and economically destructive policies.

I do not want to see one single republican vote for this freedom busting increase. It’s your duty.

So…..who would believe the initial statement by Biden that taxes won’t increase on those making less than $400K??? This tax increase will affect EVERYONE….don’t be fooled! Companies don’t pay taxes….consumers pay those corporate taxes!! There isn’t one company out there that will NOT pass these tax increases along to everyone that purchases their products! Don’t want to pay higher taxes…..then go on government welfare and quit buying anything made or produced! You can then revel in the fact that the tax increase won’t affect YOU!! Otherwise, you are falling for the Biden lie!

And don’t forget the use of monetary inflation to substitute for raising taxes. The DemoncRats are dedicated to and good at deceiving the public as to fiscal matters.

It’s advertised as a 3.5 trillion dollar bill but if you haven’t figured it out yet that is mostly a conservative number. I can’t recall the organization that looked into this but the actual amount is closer to 5 Trillion dollars. Typical Democrat work here.

What?, it came from the house? That’s hard to believe. After all, we have Ocasio, Omar, and a host of other socialist/marxists in the house. If they can just convince enough of the weak minded senators to go alone with it, then it must be a good thing. I’m sure the bad to the bone republicans won’t mind. But then, just follow the money.

This humongous bill is economic insanity if it goes thru. Americans will suffer for years following its passing … IF it passes. IMO the lack of a (BBA) balanced budget amendment has become direly necessary. Not having a BBA allows the Executive Branch and Congressional Branch to hide taxation in the form of monetary inflation and escape all fiscal accountability … and the News media will support this lack of accountability … it eventually results in bad news and sells news.

this monstrosity of a tax and spending package is a ripoff of American taxpayers. If anyone seriously believes that the tax increases in this bill will only be paid for by people and corporations making more than $400,000 per year, they’re in for a rude awakening because there are NOT enough taxpayers making that kind of money so eventually the government is going to have to target everyone below that price range.

Don’t forget … there is inflation that can cover for the negative consequences of a overblown spending bill. All the have to do is just print more money, thus devaluing the value of the money … which then has to be made up by the cost of goods and services in the private sector (who can’t inflate their money).

People, what WE REALLY NEED Right Now is for a Modern JOE MCCARTHY to step up and POINT OUT that EVERYTHING He once said about OUR Government, both Federal and State, as well as our educational system, film industry, etc.
Had ALL BEEN INFILTRATED BY COMMUNISTS!!! … And it appears, HE WAS CORRECT!

But Rik, most millennials and gen x’ers have all been indoctrinated to view both socialism and communism as preferable forms of governance to our own. This isn’t the 1950’s with the vast majority of the American public being well aware of what socialist or communist rule really entails. Today we have nation where most people under 40 don’t even understand or care about anything other than Instagram, FB, Twitter and other social media site likes. Whether you want to call them snowflakes or drones, the reality is most don’t have the cognitive ability to understand the subject in any meaningful detail.

There are literally dozens of people and organizations that write and talk about the reality of what both socialism and communism actually delivers on a daily basis. Simply having yet another person pounding a gavel each and every day about the dangers of socialism in all its forms wouldn’t get through to the millennial and gen x crowd any better. Those two generations are largely incapable of processing the information correctly and coming to the grand realization you envision.

Hi PaulE, I agree with you but what really bothers me is that NOT ONE Senator or Congressperson CALLS anyone in the Democratic Party A COMMUNIST!… Why is that? … Only AMAC members commenting here all do.

Well most politicians are not necessarily interested in the truth Rik. Some are, but only as long as it doesn’t cost them their comfy position. They are however all interested in doing and saying as little as possible, so they can get re-elected over and over again. Thus the term career politician as opposed to elected representative of the people. There is a BIG difference between the two. I learned that decades ago.

If you’re looking for consistent, strong leadership and courage to stand up to the far left in this country, you’re looking in the wrong place if you expect it to come from career politicians. That is what made Trump so effective in comparison to the sea of politically correct, poll watching, life-long career politicians, who constantly measure every decision or word they utter against how it might impact their re-election prospects. What you want is simply a brave, patriotic American who is willing to speak the truth, no matter who it offends, on every issue and then do the right thing. That is NOT what you are going to get from any career politician for the reasons I just laid out.

Yeah guys, and I think the actual bottom line is that there is just plain evil running our government. American’s MUST pray. Only God can turn this mess around.

All that is required for evil to triumph over good is for good men to do nothing. If we all truly want a government that actually represents the people properly, then it is up to us, all of us, to be far more engaged and active to push back hard against those that actively seek to strip us all of our rights and freedoms. So far, most of our side seems willing to do nothing but talk and do little else.

The left is constantly pushing hard to advance their agenda each and every day. That is why they have made such gains in this country over the last 100 years. It’s not magic or Satan, but the force of will and their actions that has allowed them to get as far as they have. They never stop and they only back down when confronted by overwhelming force, which sadly our side is very reluctant to use to protect this country and its people. Our strategy seems that we just hope they all go away somehow, so we don’t have to do anything. That of course won’t work.

If we’re not willing to stand up for our own rights and freedoms and demand more from those that supposedly represent us, then we lose. Plain and simple. The situation we have today was caused by man and it can be fixed by man, if we have the will and determination to stand up for ourselves. If all we’re willing to do is just hope and pray that everything just magically gets better somehow, then we’ve already lost and it’s just a matter of time until we need to learn to speak Chinese. 中国有望在2027年在经济上超过美国,并在2035年成为地球上唯一的超级大国。醒来吧,白痴们!

It is definitely time to vote OUT the career politicians! Not only do we need them out, but as soon as they are – we need to get in TERM LIMITS. Political office was never intended to be a career – get in, serve your community, then get out and go Back To Work!

I am coming to the conclusion that AMAC is a ‘paper tiger’. I feel compelled to write to AMAC because I believe good people at AMAC are working hard for us as you print great articles about the lies, distortions, and many bad things being done by the current Administration. However, more needs to be done–I don’t see any proposed AMAC actions or even an action plan where we the readers can begin to challenge this Administration, work to block their proposed legislation, and/or demand our legislators stand up to stop this madness. I would like to see an organization that is more active in challenging our legislators to “do the right thing”. Such an organization might give us, your subscribers, proposed draft letters, emails, and phone numbers to use in contacting our legislators so we can actively let those legislators hear how we, the constituents, feel about what they are, or aren’t, doing.

“Paper tiger” is a very polite way of saying ineffective, either intentionally or unintentionally, which of course you are correct in your conclusion. At least from my perspective. From what I have seen over the years, AMAC is indeed interested in a very narrow range of issues centered around insurance and insurance by-products that could potentially be included in any future healthcare legislation. The problem is those limited issues don’t overlap very well with most of the larger topics that are presented by the re-printed articles that AMAC regularly runs. I can’t imagine there’s honestly a massive public interest in endless articles about healthcare insurance products or annuity products. So AMAC would have to either hire a much larger writing staff to generate its own articles in-house or scale back the AMAC web page so it wouldn’t look so empty.

AMAC it is basically a sort of combination PAC / Lobbying entity to advance its narrow interests in the areas that I have outlined with Congress. Also given their relative size, I would also imagine there has to be a desire to keep a relatively low profile in Washington these days, lest they draw the ire of the Democrats and mainstream media. Thus you get the “paper tiger” you see.

Paul E,

Your assertions re: AMAC’s role in representing its members on critical issues are inaccurate. AMAC doesn’t limit its focus to health insurance or prescription drug issues; its vision for its members and our county is anything but limited. AMAC actively petitions our elected officials on a variety of important issues apart from healthcare, insurance, or Social Security: tax issues, national security, election integrity, foreign policy, and much more are ALL on the table. If you read a broader number of articles published by AMAC on its website and in its nationally distributed monthly magazine you would know this. AMAC has 2 million members nationwide with a strong network of congressional delegates and state chapter leaders who help to make the voices of AMAC members heard in Washington D.C. And, AMAC has often been sought out by members of Congress on legislative issues. Its scope and influence are hardly what you could call “narrow” and the organization itself isn’t concerned about keeping a low profile. Quite the opposite is true.
Your reference to AMAC as a “paper tiger” is simply disingenuous at best.

Obama, Biden, Harris, Shumer, and Pelosi all out to destroy America and turn us into a hellhole!!! The US government is the most inefficient at fixing America’s ills. That is what capitalism(the private sector is for). Look at Biden he is totally out of touch with Americans because really he hasn’t worked an honest day in his in life. He has used his position to steal from Americans and other countries for himself and his family. He was the one who is greatly responsible for the deaths of 9/11 and yet he has the audacity of showing up for the memorials of 9/11. Gives 85 billion in military hardware and worse yet technology to known thugs/terrorists/taliban who are now working with Biden’s buddies the CCP to steal our technology. They are all working in collusion to destroy America. Another perfect example is this phoney and illegal vaccine mandates that are killing and permanently disabling many Americans while his wicked democrat buddies in congress are exempt along with all these illegals he’s transported on our dime to locations all over America on our dime being infected with the virus without any regard to law abiding tax paying citizens. His plan kill patriotic Americans while protecting his voting base many of whom are known thugs!!! This is the only way the wicked democrats can win elections because their stances on critical issues are for wickedness instead of righteousness!!!

The only way that the Corporatists can continue to rapidlly grow wealth overseas AND maintain the American poor voters they need to win elections is by these dirty deals that sell out the buying power of the American middle class. They sell us out to both to the “couch pilots” here at home and to governments abroad.

This 3,500,000,000,000.00 dollar boondoggle is just such an exercise. Hard NO!!!

We ar probably more help than most of these millenial goofs are anyway, so our “future employers” may be glad, but I knocked myself out 300 days a year for 38 years getting to this place I’m at economically. I’ve seemingly lost 10 years of inflationary pressure wiggle room in 6 months.

I have been convinced for a long time that the democrat/marxists have adopted the same strategy to bring about the downfall of the United States that Reagan used to bring about the fall of the soviet union. In other words, they are causing U.S. to continue to spend ever increasing moneys to the point of eventual collapse. The sorry part about all of this is they are intentionally causing the fall of their own country so they can consolidate power. Just like under Lenin, when the russian people realized they were getting a raw deal and tried to reverse course trotsky sent out the red army to slaughter dissenters.

Wow. I never saw that, but you are probably correct.

If the “war game” sessions that these Democrat leaders and their top campaign donors regularly have were ever recorded and made public, these people would probably need 30 person security details just to SURVIVE going out into the public without getting what they deserve.

I love the name of this “committee”……Ways and means……..and what they are doing has little, if anything to do with actual “ways and means”….it’s a rubber stamp committee who will dance with the ones who brung them. Yet another way and mean to drive our republic into the ground. My representatives are less than helpful in controlling the coming storm of taxes, pork and inflation. So hide your wallet, and get out the vasoline, you’re gonna need it!
