FDA and CDC Sign Off on Pfizer Booster Shots for Seniors 65-Plus for Extra Protection Against the COVID Virus

booster

WASHINGTON, DC, Sep 24 — The Centers for Disease Control [CDC] says Americans 65 and older, as well as those at risk due to their medical histories, can begin getting booster shots for the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. “We encourage our members and all eligible seniors to consider the benefits, not the least of which is a healthier life in our golden years,” says Rebecca Weber, CEO of the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC].

The Food and Drug Administration’s advisory committee voted unanimously on Wednesday to authorize a third dose of the vaccine for seniors and individuals who may be at risk and who received double doses of the vaccine six months ago. And, today, CDC scientific advisers voted 15-0 to begin providing third dose inoculations as soon as Director Rochelle Walensky signs off.

The advisers also voted 13-2 in favor of third shots for at-risk seniors between the ages of 50 and 64. A majority also approved shots for adults aged 18 to 49 years with underlying medical conditions.

The advisory panel did not vote on booster shots for people who received the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. But the New York Times reports that the advisors discussed “a mix-and-match strategy and signaled that they would revisit the issue as new data emerge.” And, according to the Times, once the director makes it official, “anyone who wants a booster may simply be able to walk into a pharmacy and ask for one — many Americans already did so before the FDA’s authorization, typically by finding a cooperative pharmacist or pretending to be unvaccinated.”

The reason for allowing booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine is because the company’s scientists had reported to the FDA that the immunity of those who received the first doses was dropping over time. And the Times report explained that “CDC scientists presented models indicating that, if booster doses were to slightly increase people’s protection against hospitalization, the additional shots could prevent more than 2,000 hospitalizations for every million doses given.”

According to Medscape, an online medical news source for healthcare professionals: “For now, people who were initially vaccinated with either Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines are excluded from booster recommendations, something many on the committee were uncomfortable with … The FDA is still considering Moderna’s application to market booster doses. Johnson & Johnson hasn’t yet applied to the FDA for permission to offer second doses in the US.”

In a separate report, Medscape published a commentary regarding the booster shot news by Dr. F. Perry Wilson of the Yale School of Medicine. In it, he noted that it is normal for the efficacy of vaccines to decline over a period of time. However, he says, they remain “pretty strong against severe disease, hospitalization, or death.”

He says that Pfizer’s own data indicates reduced efficacy over time but that independent reports do not indicate a “dramatic” lessening of effectiveness.

Dr. Wilson went on to say that “some would argue that as long as there is still good protection against severe disease and hospitalization, there is no problem here. I’m not one of them. Protection against mild infection clearly has public health benefits. Moreover, remember that even without waning of protection against severe disease, it is possible that boosters could increase protection from their current very high levels to even higher levels — and that’s a good thing too.”

The booster news coincides with the spread of the spread across the country of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.

Mix and match Moderna and Pfizer? That appears to junk science in the extreme.

That’s why mix and match trials are being conducted right now.

AMAC pushing the jab… after all the people that died last fall over the shot.

I found articles that documented three or four possible deaths from blood clots as a result of one of the vaccines. What information did you find to the contrary ?

I am amazed that we call the Covid “treatment” a “vaccine.” Typically vaccines are made from a weakened form of a virus that then creates antibodies in the person to fight the disease. There is NO Covid in these “treatments.” It’s an experimental treatment that introduces an mRNA into the body that corresponds to a viral protein. On paper this looks good. There are NO long term studies that show what else may happen within the body because of this treatment. If this “treatment” was as SAFE as they claim, why has the Government released these companies from ALL liability in the event of serious side affects down the road?
I say Follow the Money. Which politicians, government officials, doctors, institutions and social media giants have stock in these companies?
I refuse to be a lab rat for someone else’s financial gain. There is “No free lunch.” All the nose swab tests and injectables are being paid for to the tune of billions of dollars!

I agree totally. I am ashamed of our medical going along with this experimental jab. And how they want us to become at war within the people of this great country. I have lost my appetite from all this.i am proud of drs who have stood with real science and not fallen into the money part of health care may God keep a watchful eye on you.thank you for who took your medical oath serious.hats off to you that are brave you are the real hero sAnd thank you veterans who continue to fight for our freedoms.

Typically, airplanes were powered by propellers until the jet engine was invented. Is it impossible to imagine that vaccine development in the 19th and 20th centuries could be enhanced in the 21st century ?

So now AMAC has drifted to the dark side. Unbelievable! The crazy loon in charge of the CDC, over-rode the panel that was against this BS. How many more boosters are there going to be?? Anyone?
One day the panel says NO, then another day comes and then it’s yes?

The Pfizer jab is not doing it’s job. All you have to do is look at the results coming out of Israel, the nation with the highest vaccination rate in the world, and also the highest break through infection rates. The only vaccine they are using is Pfizer. The latest information I received shows the vaccine to be only 39 percent effective in preventing COVID 19. That isn’t worth the risk of adverse reactions common to the vaccine. So open your eyes and take a look at what this vaccine is really all about!

The main purpose of the vaccine is to prevent either death or hospitalization not to prevent mild symptoms. It’s a novel virus so how long the vaccine prevents mild symptoms is still to be determined.

A booster may be required after six months, eight months or twelve months. We will know more as more data becomes available.

I don’t care who endorses the vaccines or the boosters. I am not getting any of them. I don’t need them, have never gotten a flu shot, never get the flu. I will survive a virus that 99.9% of people survive. However, I don’t care what others do, I just want to make my own choice.

Only a robust Immune System can offer Protection against Disease, and such Protection is founded on proper Nutrition, not Pharmaceuticals. Allergens and Toxins abound: Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, Seed Oils, Coffee and other Caffeine containing Sources are some of the Assaults on Health that need to be addressed. Promotion of Pharmaceutical Drugs needs to be banned from all Media. The average Person does not have a sufficient Knowledge of Biochemistry or Physiology, to discern Truth from Lies regarding Pharmaceuticals.

The comment by that last physician that booster shots are a good thing even prevent mild infection is ridiculous. 99% of Covid infections are mild infections. There are only so many vaccines to go around in an entire world to attempt to vaccinate. I strongly agree with the FDA recommendations and the use of the Pfizer vaccine but I think we should strongly reject the idea that everyone in the entire United States needs the booster shot. Especially because so many people in the undeveloped world who are allowed to travel to the United States do not have it and could begin this entire pandemic over in as a littlest Little as six months to a year

You are 100% Correct! COVID is a mild infection that has been made worse by improper Treatments.

If you are convinced that the side effects from the vaccine are worse than both the symptoms of covid and the possibility that you could pass covid on to someone else, then don’t get vaccinated.
