President Obama Holds the Record for Imposing Costly Regulations, says AMAC

obama (2)Government regulatory authority run-amok is not a political issue

WASHINGTON, DC, Dec 18 – Most Americans were too busy preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday to have noticed the White House announcement that the president seeks to impose 2,224 new regulations on us in the coming months, according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

The new rules include 144 regulations that are officially considered to be “economically significant” because they come with a price tag of $100 million or more each.

“Mr. Obama, in fact, broke his own record set last spring when he announced 136 mega-buck rules, the most ever in history until then.  That news came out just before Memorial Day weekend.  This time around he told us about the new rules only a few days before Thanksgiving.  It appears the president chooses to make these kinds of announcements at some of the busiest times of the year, hoping that few of us will pay attention to the fact that he plans to spend billions of taxpayer dollars,” Weber said.

The newest regulatory plan has a total price tag of more than $92 billion, according to some estimates.  But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  The Competitive Enterprise Institute says that in 2014 regulations cost American consumers and businesses a staggering $1.88 trillion in lost economic productivity and higher prices.  CEI says the price tag for the average American household was $14,976

“If that is not enough to warrant Congressional scrutiny, I don’t know what is.  Government spending, deficits and the national debt are out of control and we all know it, but the cost of regulations and the impact these rules have on our daily lives gets little notice.  Perhaps it is because the rules are imposed without benefit of debate.  It is about time, therefore, that we encourage those who we elected to be our eyes and ears inside the beltway to do what they were sent there to do—to protect our interests.”

The Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress published a study noting that liberals favor government intervention that promotes social, non-economic objectives, while conservatives see government intervention as an intrusion that makes us less competitive.

“The issue of government regulatory authority run-amok is not a political issue.  It’s an American issue that requires bi-partisan attention because we simply can’t afford the nearly $2 trillion dollar price tag,” Weber concluded.

I agree. No American should die for a country that their own residents don’t fight for. Enough American blood has been shed for these people. No more. Let their rich Muslim neighbors help them. But they don’t. I wonder why.

Obama is a Muslin, as is his wife. Want proof? Check the underside of their wedding rings that shout “Ala Ackgbar, Ala forever! Marriage, don’t think so. Muslim women are regarded as slave, as are they children. Their only love is Ala and the Muslim people. Time 2 impeach Obama. His V.P. may have a brain tumor, but at least he is a true American!

Let’s face it, Obama is the enemy! Impeach him before he kills every American!

I agree. These people don’t want to be Americans. They want to set up independent countries within our borders. If they want to come here to be Americans let them go through proper channels. The safety of the American people should come first. There is no reason to rush into any of this.

I believe America should do all it can to help all the fleeing refugees overseas close to their homelands. If & when things stabilize, they can return & rebuild their countries. We should provide food, shelter and safety from terrorists. They should not be brought to America. These people don’t want to be Americans. They want to set up independent countries within our borders. If they want to come here to be Americans let them go through proper channels. The safety of the American people should come first. Why should we do anything to help them? They don’t fight for their own country. They run and expect others to fight for them. Amac, I disagree. It is all political and will require citizen activity to do anything about it for the future.
Most of the money spent by our goverignment arises through statute, the bills passed by Congress and the Agencies created by Congress to transfer responsibility to the Executive for what was Congresses responsibility. The Executive powers were few and limited by the Constitution until Congress delegated what was not theirs to delegate, creating an alphabet soup of departments that formulate the rules and regulations and costs we are faced with.
Past and current voters elected the Congress that gives away their responsibilities. Blame the people for taking their eyes off the prize of representative government. We are not represented by these agencies; they cannot be voted out by the people. Only a Constitutional Congress can pull us back from this. The people are responsible for electing such a Congress.
Most forms of a Balanced Budget Amendment proposed include the agencies and departments spending in their texts. This would make what is unconstitutionally practiced today into something within the Constitution by Amendment, thus, making lawful what is at present Constitutionally unlawful, though in practice. Correction from that point on would likely become impossible.
Most taxing and spending proposals for amendment have similar provisions and include the caviat that “these will not be increased unless we increase them (usually by a super majority vote in Congress) ” and making lawful what had been practiced unlawfully there-to-fore.
It’s a mess: both a political and an American mess; maybe even a world mess. We are in a world of hurt, no matter how you look at it. It is ours to turn around or ours to just lay down and let the dream expire the way of empire. It is up to us. We must learn; become active; insist on lawfulness from our reps or otherwise, just kiss it all goodbye. There really isn’t much time and we are well behind schedule.

Ivan, I have learned that a constitutional convention has the potential to be hijacked which will open up the door for a complete rewrite of the Constitution. I believe much of your comments and I have a question about the balance budget amendments you are referring. You state that they have specific language that will likely codify the unlawful executive branch’s use of creating new rules and regulations through the ubiquitous congressional created departments, bureaus, agencies and whatever else these nitwits make up? I’m correct or not?
I’ve not read any actual balanced budget amendment proposal’s. Do you have any specific ones that you’re depicting?
There’s much more to be mad as heck and other words about. . I have been straight up lied to by my rep in DC, and I don’t like it at all.
What I see coming from everyone else I talk with, the next few years are going to be a historic series of chaotic problems that we the people can get through together, or we can be torn apart from within.
God help us to do His will, and work together to get the great nation back on track. It will be the all hands on deck time, and we can do it. Remember that great generation, what they left for us, and know that this is our turn to rise to the challenge. Like the worst president used to say before he was elected. “We can do it. Yes We Can.” It will get better when that dude hits the road wherever, but out of the House that belongs to the American people.

Dr. Scott, as best I understand your question: yes. As to proposed BBAs see the Convention of States.com (I believe that’s how they are listed). You can also look at the spending and taxing amendments proposed by Mark Levin and see the super majority provisions for yourself. There are too many proposals to keep track of all, but you could check out Publius Huldahs Blog for many more itterations of all that I have been talking about. If brave enough you might get on the Oath Keepers email list and learn more than anyone should need to know about so many things, esp. the Constitution and what Dr. Edwin Vieria, Jr. has to say about another humungus list of subjects along these lines. So much to learn; so little time. Good hunting and good luck.
To you and anyone else reading this, Merry Christmas. Don’t let the collective atheists take that away as well.
And by all means read all of PaulE’s comments. It would be hard to find any of his efforts that were not spot on.
Thanks for the interest.

Very well said Ivan and all completely correct. Most balanced budget amendments drafted within Congress or discussed to date by various groups pushing a Constitutional Convention are essentially Trojan horses to permanently enshrine the existing spending patterns in place today by offering the illusion of a more fiscally responsible budgetary process tomorrow.

Using the holidays as a distraction is one way to get by the already poorly informed as well as those who dramk the kool-aide and swallowed Obama’s failed polocies hook, line and sinker. God help us. We need more regulations like we need a third term with this worthless and incompetent.

Why is this man not tried and convicted of treason? Why? How is it that no law applies to him? Why should we, as citizens, respect any law at all? The republicans have sold out and deserve zero respect.

In the forth paragraph above, the $14976 per average house hold was unclear. Is this dollar amount an accrued number or an increase in the cost of this disastrous administration’s policies?

Chuck is right! The Grand Old Party should be renamed “GROVEL PROFUSELY you PANTYWASTES” ! The unprincipled conduct demonstrated by the majority of those republicans currently serving, enforces by belief the goal is not the job but to retain the job by being re-elected. Neither side possesses the spine to speak honestly and clearly regarding any issue which might be controversial. Let us rid ourselves of those having forsaken the oath of office. They are tripe!

p.s. Note I did not capitalize the word Republicans. When they provide evidence they’re capable of conducting OUR business properly, I’ll review this policy.

I just do not understand why anyone with half a brain is at all surprised that this miserable excuse for a president wants to spend another $92 billion that will end up costing consumers more than $2 Trillion. In his very first year, this refugee from a socialist labor camp stated that he wanted to make a fundamental change in America; all he wants is to make our once great nation lower on the totem pole and therefore less than a third world nation. He wants us to be the only fourth world nation on this planet. My personal recommendation to this miscreant is to pack his bags, borrow a staff member’s beat up old Ford, and leave town in the middle of the night like the Marxist socialist buffoon that he is.

I also believe berry obummer is out to destroy our country, BUT he has a lot of help in the legislature !!! They have the power to stop him yet they are helping him by passing every thing he wants ( the MASSIVE budget ) !!! No one is taking him to task on any of his phone and pen B>S> !!!
AND they are letting a treasonous person try to run for president !!! Where is this country going to end up, like the middle east ???

That should be; don’t vote for incumbents who are part of the problem. A minority, but not enough, are very good and we just need more of them. If they have said they were conservative and vote liberal or moderate consistently, then vote them out. As Robert J. Ringer quoted in his 1979/80 book; Restoring the American Dream”; You can’t fool all the people all of the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country”. Let’s quit voting like collective fools.

It was clear that the choice of Obama for president was the beginning of the end of this nation. The voters chose him with full understanding, and that is the greatest tragedy. They knew, yet they voted for him. Mohammedan, socialist, disregard for human life. We are a democracy and this was the finest person in the entire nation that we could find!

I am so sad that people seem so enamoured of Obama — I too saw that he was out to destroy the America we know from the beginning! I think that as some people do come to realize this, they still don’t like to admit what a mistake they made with their votes, and are too afraid of (as Carson calls them) the “P.C. Police” to be any kind of definitive or decisive. He’s black, and theyh’re afraid that to “attack” (i.e. impeach him even!) would be thought to be hateful and prejudiced. What a load, huh? Anyway, I’m hopeful that we can get a pro-Constitution America-lovin’ President in there, who realigns this country to the principles/values/practices, etc. that our founding fathers were so inspired to create! I have to hope!! Otherwise, I’d probably want to go do “harry-carry” (sp-?), and really don’t want to do that!! Anyway, I agree with what you wrote; but would like to encourage you hang-in there with some hope for changes for the positive! Don’t give up on America!!

AMEN: When Obama was elected he said he was going to fundamentally change America,.” He has already made so many bad changes that I am not so sure we can return to the county our founding fathers created. It appears that the only way is for our creator God must intervene. Come LORD JESUS return soon. Please.
