Do not like one thing that Trump has said about prescriptions: He has entertained the idea that Americans should buy pills from another country if they can get cheaper. This goes against the Buy American slogan & also as we have seen with coronavirus that US is very dependent on prescriptions from foreign countries like China, and the big push should be to manufacture in the USA. Tort reform is needed in USA to keep the price down due to frivolous & costley lawsuits because one person out of zillion has a problem.

No question we don’t want to buy from China etc, but for us lower 48 residents his offer means we could purchase in Canada or Mexico (mostly) unless or until our US Big Pharma Illustrates ANY willingness to moderate their high fees. I will ALWAYS BUY AMERICAN when practicable, but I won’t cut off my nose if a less expensive near local alternative is available. Wisdom must also have its place.

I am not at all sure what this article is talking about but my Medicare premium has gone up every year, it has never been lowered! If we do get a cost of living raise it is taken away by raising my Medicare premium. I am a Trump-Pence supporter but this article is not true for people in Wisconsin at least, I wish it was.

Not true in Virginia either. My husband was retired military, and I paid $0 for medical insurance until I hit 65, now I pay $150 a month for Medicare with no drug coverage unless I pay for it.

Mary, it is not true in Texas either. All my rates increased again this year and the cost-of-living increase is not large enough to cover even my increase in the cost of my one medication. Frustrating!

I agree with Mary.. Medicare premiums have gone up every year and are going up on 2021. This is a direct hit to my social security benefit. Simply put.. it will reduce the money I receive from Social Security . I am paying more and receiving less. I live in N.J.,maybe that’s why?

Read Newt Gingrich’s book Trump and the American Future, especially the chapters on what the administration is doing to improve health care. Innovation and elimination of perverse incentives are key concepts.
