Stability, Security and Fairness Resolution.

September 19th, 2013

The Honorable Tom Graves
14th District, Georgia
U.S. House of Representatives
432 Cannon House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Graves,

I am writing today on behalf of the 750,000 members of AMAC, the Association of Mature
American Citizens, to offer our strong support for H.J.Res.62, the “Stability, Security and Fairness Resolution.” This timely piece of legislation seeks to responsibly address the concerns of the American people, who have adamantly expressed their desire to see the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act – known more commonly as “ObamaCare” – defunded and delayed.

H.J.Res. 62 presents a straight-forward plan that accomplishes two critical purposes: keeping the government open and protecting the American people from the harmful effects of ObamaCare. Built on the concepts of stability, security, and fairness, H.J.Res. 62 outlines a three-pronged approach to achieve these goals. First, this resolution provides long-term stability to the government by authorizing its funding for the next fiscal year. Of note, H.J.Res. 62 includes three House-approved appropriations bills that prioritize funding for national security and veterans – ensuring that our military and their families are adequately cared for. Last, this legislation strives to achieve fairness for all Americans by delaying and defunding ObamaCare until 2015.

The “Stability, Security and Fairness Resolution” offers necessary relief to American taxpayers, who would be unfairly forced to pay for a health care law that is not being implemented in accordance with the law, as it is written. The White House’s disturbing pattern of choosing which parts of the law it will enforce is a blatant misuse of power and authority that places an unreasonable financial burden on hard-working, tax-paying citizens. AMAC does not believe the American taxpayers should be required to fund a program the government itself is unwilling to implement.

Like many Americans, AMAC remains very concerned about how ObamaCare will impact individuals, families, and seniors. Defunding and delaying ObamaCare is the only way to ensure justice for taxpayers and to protect the public from the dangers that will result from this law. Thanks to your leadership and attention, AMAC is proud to support the H.J.Res. 62, the “Stability, Security and Fairness Resolution.”
